With the ambiance of spiritual panorama all around, the Mandi was a former capital of the princely state. The main deity of almost all temples around the city is Lord Shiva, and very popular temples are Bhoothnath, Trilokinath, Panchaktra, etc. that gives a special name to Mandi – “Varanasi of the Hills” or “Chhoti Kashi”. Its granular architecture, old palace and rich customs, Mandi is often considered as the cultural capital of the state. The main languages spoken in Mandi are Hindi, Punjabi and English, people here can understand all these languages. The language used as dialect between local masses is Mandyali. There are lots of unique landscapes all around the Mandi district. The Mandi housed very famous tourists spots mainly are, Janjehli, Shikari Devi, Kamru Nag Lake, Rewalsar Lake, Prashar Lake, Tarna Devi Hill, Panchvaktra Temple, Trilokinath Temple, Joginder Nagar, Barot Valley, Karsog Valley, Sundernagar.
