Some people believed that Ambala name came from the founders of city Amba Rajput, but if you believe another version, its name came from a village “Amba Wala”, in English “Mango Village” and the third version came from a temple of Goddess Amba which is situated in the middle of the city. Anyway, Ambala still has historical importance and it was one of the important cities in terms of army and airforce during the Britisher’s era in India. Ambala is still famous for its large size bazaars, food, and traditional shopping.
