Hoshiarpur’s name comes from the name of “Hoshiar Khan” who had ruled Bajwara during the Mughal Empire. Hoshiarpur also termed as “The city of Saints”, it lies on the foothill of Shiwalik hill range. Hoshiarpur is the only district of Punjab which have hill regions mainly named Chohaal, Chakk sadhu, Aasha Devi, etc. Some of the nearby places of Hoshiarpur are favorite tourist spots.
