Kangra region is one of the most historical regions in the valley with its granular historical background since the inhabitation of Pre-Aryan tribes. Kangra is considered as the largest region of the Himachal Pardesh, geographically as well as population-wise. With the accompany of the glorious Dhauladhar hills on its one side, the valley is very unique, very granular in nature with wonderful landscapes all around. The people of Kangra valley are very nice and gentle to everyone. People here generally speak and understand English, Hindi & Punjabi languages. Native people generally speak Pahaari or Kangri, a local dialect, used in everyday life. This area is full of beautiful sights all around it. It consists of many lakes, forts, rivers, temples, etc. The Kangra district hosts some of the best luxury hotels and resorts in the area of Dharamshala, McLeodganj, Palampur, Baijnath, etc.

The famous tourist spots are Kangra Fort, Masroor Rock-cut Temples, Maharana Partap Sagar(Largest manmade lake in India on Beas river through Pong Dam), Pragpur, Jwalamukhi, Dada Siba, Kathgarh, Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Tatwanni & Machhial.

Weddings in Himachal Pardesh are very exciting, somewhat different in customs if compare to North Indian style weddings. The beginning of every wedding is almost traditionally the same as other Indian weddings. Generally, the matchmaking process is performed by elders in families on the basis of Horoscope, Teva(in local language). When everything is settled from both sides (groom and bride), Tika is sent initially. At weddings, lots of customs and rituals are performed during all ceremonies which last for multiple days.
