Haryana is located in the northern part of India and adjacent to India capital, Delhi. From the Eastside, Haryana is surrounded by Uttar Pardesh, from Westside, Haryana is surrounded by Punjab state, from the south side, it is surrounded by Rajasthan and from the north side, it is surrounded by Himachal Pradesh. The national capital of Delhi is surrounded on three sides by Haryana.
Haryana has evolved through the ravages of times and has still managed to hold on to many of its traditions. The people of Haryana strictly adhere to their customs and cultural traditions. Yoga and chanting of Vedic mantras have become an innate part of their lifestyle. The dialect of Haryana, popularly known as Haryanvi, Bangaru, or Jatu; is known to be a bit crude but is full of earthy humor and straightforwardness. Most of the people of Haryana have more or less equal social status. The factor of age is a really dominating trait in Haryana, as all elders, whether rich or poor are treated with utmost respect and honor. Thus, it displays a very socialistic nature. In some parts of the state, the economic status of an individual is also determined by the number of cattle he owns!
Haryana shares Chandigarh city as the capital area with Punjab. The local wedding rituals are the same as other cities in Punjab, Haryana & Himachal which is Rokka, Tikka, Mangni, Sagai, Sangeet, Mehendi, Jaagon, which comprises the main Wedding customs. The best months for weddings are September to November and February to March.
